8 FEBRUARY 2014 PRO INSTALLER PRO NEWS www.proinstaller.co.uk GGF WELCOMES NEW PRESIDENT The GGF’s Presidency changed hands on 1st January 2014 with Brian Baker of Glassolutions Saint Gobain taking over from Mark Warren of Lister Trade Frames, whose two year tenure ended in December. Nigel Rees, GGF Group Chief Executive said: “I warmly welcome Brian as new GGF President and thank Mark for all his sterling work during his Presidency. It is pleasing that both Brian and Mark, as Immediate Past President, will continue working together on many areas of the Federation.” Brian, a GGF Board member for five years, commented, “I am delighted to take over the role of President. Mark has overseen some fundamental changes in the structure and operations of the GGF following the Strategy Review, and I hope to be able to build on both his and the GGF’s success.” Mark Warren remains on the GGF Board for the next 12 months to ensure continuity. Mark said: “Having worked with Brian for a few years, I welcome his appointment as President. I have no doubt he is up to the challenges ahead both in the GGF and in the industry.” ‘I welcome his appointment’ www.ggf.org.uk Severe Weather & Rising Energy Costs Boosts Enquiries TrustMark, the Government endorsed quality mark for tradesmen, has recorded its greatest year to date for tradesmen details displayed on the website (www.trustmark.org.uk). Window installers and glaziers saw the largest rise in 2013, primarily due to homeowners wanting to cut their rising energy costs. In 2013 more than five million search results were provided to homeowners who used the website and telephone helpline to find local tradesmen. ‘a result of a number of increased marketing initiatives carried out during 2013’ Severe weather conditions across the UK contributed significantly to the December growth in demand for flood recovery specialists, fence installers and underground waterproofing specialists.
