10 FEBRUARY 2014 PRO INSTALLER PRO NEWS www.proinstaller.co.uk UAP release the next generation of super smooth cylinders UAP Limited has released a new TS007:2012 1 star cylinder which offers increased security and a super smooth turning action. UAP has been working with renowned Locksmith Chris Belcher to develop the UAP ZeroLift Advance which will replace the current UAP ZeroLift cylinder. The new cylinder uses a system of timing pins which control the physical timing when a cylinder is bumped. This system provides anti-bump security without the use of trap pins. The timing pins have replaced the previous bullet pin zero lift system and so the new cylinders have a much smoother turn and provide the flexibility of being able to key alike easily. UAP’s MD David Jennings said: “We have designed the UAP ZeroLift Advance to offer extra security against various forms of lock manipulation. The anti-bump, anti-snap, anti-drill and anti-pick features have all been enhanced. The biggest change is the new timing pins which are unlike anything else currently on the market. They provide an effective and safe solution to lock bumping.” The UAP ZeroLift Advance has been developed to give extra security against drilling attacks, all of the pins are made from nickel plated hardened steel to HRC60 and there are three anti-drill pins on each end of the cylinder, one at the front and then a second set in line two millimetres behind. Changes have also been made to strengthen the anti-snap security on the UAP+ model; the sacrificial anti-snap line has been repositioned so that when a snap attempt is made the remaining cylinder lies further back inside the door, this makes it harder to get hold off for a secondary attack. UAP has taken steps to help end users meet relevant safety and security requirements; this has involved achieving a one hour
