Architectural glazing sys-

Kawneer were specified for a

idence House on Princes Street,
because they are “tried and tested

for money.”
On the ground floor of the
55,000ft 2 building office screens
comprise Kawneer’s AA®100 zone-
drained curtain walling with series
190 heavy-duty entrance doors and
fixed lights with 200mm feature
face caps in a mixture of metallic
silver and anodised bronze.
The AA®100 curtain walling
also features on the Chalon Street
façade as zone and mullion-drained
and with a framing system incor-
porating spandrel panels as well
as on a gable end with clear glass
fixed back to a concrete staircase

and separately, with louvre panels
and a pair of series 190 doors.
The rear central core features
more of the AA®100 zone-drained
curtain walling with fixed lights
while at the main entrance, the
zone-drained AA®100 climbs the
full height of the five-storey build-
ing, then returns 90° at roof terrace
level to incorporate AA®3720
bifold doors and two AA®720 ther-
mally superior single-access doors
leading onto a roof garden.

has enabled Birketts solicitors, one
of the largest office employers in

Jack and Jill Pre-
school is crowned
D.W. Nye’s
campaign winner
After hundreds of votes
from the local community, the
winner of builders’ merchant D.W.
Nye’s Proud to be Local campaign
is Jack and Jill Pre-school in Rof-
fey, Horsham.
In the third round of the com-
petition this year, local people cast
their votes for the charity of their
choice via email, Facebook and in
store. Jack and Jill Pre-school was
the clear winner and has been pre-
sented with a cheque for £500.
The charity works to provide
quality, inclusive care and edu-
cation for children aged two to
12 years. It offers a place where
children can explore, create and
discover the world in a safe and
nurturing environment. Founded
24 years ago, the pre-school is
based in Littlehaven Infant School,
and last year opened a second site
at Northolmes Junior School. The
money will go towards renew-
ing the soft flooring under the
climbing equipment to ensure a
safe and stimulating setting for the
children.
The group now joins the Hol-
brook Animal Rescue Centre and

Mike Davis, Managing Director
of Gloucester-based aluminium
specialists CDW Systems has
returned to his roots, joining the
newly-formed Cheltenham Town
Former Players Association.
Whilst many within the
industry will know Mike for his
13-year tenure at CDW, he
is arguably better known for
his time on the football pitch
with Cheltenham. In a career
which spanned decades, Mike
became synonymous with The
Robins, starting off as a youth
team player before joining
the first team and eventually
working his way right through
the ranks to become First
Team Assistant Manager.
Partnering with a young
Steve Cotterill (former Bristol
City, Birmingham, Burnley and
Stoke City manager), Mike
resided over Cheltenham’s
most successful and trans-
formative period. Not only did
the duo lead Cheltenham to
victory in the 1998 FA Trophy
Final at Wembley Stadium but
to the Football Conference
title the very next season –
securing promotion to the
Football League for the first
time in the club’s history.
Now more than a decade
on, Mike returns to Whaddon
Road to join a whole host of
CTFC legends in the forma-
tion of the FPA. Their aim is to
not only celebrate and keep
alive the achievements of the
club and its former players
but to encourage fan engage-
ment and enhance the overall
matchday experience for
supporters and sponsors.
