Efficiency award for VEKA UK
VEKA UK Group’s technically-advanced mixing plant was among
achievements that helped it win a regional business award.
The PVCu systems supplier was presented with the
Business Efficiency Award
at the EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards.
The Burnley-based company
was singled out as the ‘manufacturer that had most successfully
brought in new operating practices to boost productivity and
business performance’. It was selected by a panel of judges drawn
from business leaders, industry
experts and academics and was
up against stiff competition from
across the region.
The group will go on to compete for the national title at an
awards gala dinner in London in
January.

Textured cladding
takes off at airport
Kestrel Building Products has fitted out a
modern new airport on the Isle of Wight
with Kavex textured cladding. The purpose
built commercial building has been
finished in light grey cladding supplied
through Unique Windows (IOW) Ltd.
Michael Turner, partner at
Unique Windows said: “The
contractor needed a product
that would give the right
modern, coastal look for the
airport and would be easy to
fit. We recommended Kavex
because it is easy to work
with and faster to fit than
some other cladding products.”
