Mike Crewdson, Sales and
Marketing Director, Emplas,
said: “It can be very difficult
to identify real, meaningful
unique selling points. We
pride ourselves on the quality of manufacture and the
range we offer, something
which is a very real benefit
to our customers.
“Our new and exclusive
handle range is manufactured to the highest standards but because it simply
isn’t available anywhere
else, it gives Emplas installers a new point of differentiation.”

MI Products Director Ian Searle explained:
“New building regulations relating to Part
M have forced changes to traditional PVC-U
thresholds. While residential door thresholds
have moved forwards, the patio door one had
remained virtually unchanged – until now.
“The MI Products’ low patio door threshold
offers significant improvements over existing
products in terms of performance, aesthetics, simple installation and ease of use. The
threshold height has been sufficiently reduced
to meet the Part M requirements for ease of
access by those with restricted mobility, yet it
still achieves the required water sealing and
air permeability standards.”
Available in anodised silver and gold finishes, the sill is also ideal for use in dividing
applications between main living accommodation and conservatories or other extensions.
Ian added: “Customer reaction and response
to the product has been overwhelmingly
positive, with no negatives whatsoever. With
no compromise between height and sealing
effectiveness, it’s the low threshold that the
patio market has been crying out for.”

RAISING LONDON
STANDARDS
Once again the diversity of the Orangery Solutions patented system
has proved the product of choice for a recent installation in London.
This particular project was part of a major refurbishment at a private
urban home that needed careful planning due to limited outside space.
Being located in a
prestigious London area
that consists of striking
period properties the installation required both
careful structural calculations and 3D visualisation before the project
could commence.
Orangery Solutions
worked alongside architects
and planners to ensure all
aesthetic aspects matched
the existing period details.
The homeowners wanted
the best in thermal performance as the orangery was
to be used every day as
an open extension to the
kitchen area. Additionally,
the Orangery Solutions
team had to customise the
installation to be sympathetic to the surrounding period
homes.
The versatility of the
company’s patented cassette system, which can
be used for both domestic
and commercial purposes,
impressed the homeowners
due to the combination of
simple installation and final
overall thermal efficiency,
which has led Ѽ
