TOPPING 5 MILLION
Goliath Homeworld – a founder member of Network
VEKA – is celebrating more than £5m in sales registered
directly through the two organisations’ partnership.
Stephen Hancox, managing
director at Goliath explains:
“Network VEKA was conceived to
help installers demonstrate that
they uphold the highest standards,
not just in using systems from The
VEKA UK Group, but also in their
levels of service, installation and
aftercare. That unbroken chain of
quality – from extrusion to certifi-
cation – is a unique selling point
in our industry that homeowners
understand and value.
“I’ve been on the Network VEKA
steering group since day one,
and when I see sales figures like
these, not just for Goliath, but any
member company achieving such
results, I feel immensely proud of
what we’ve accomplished over the
last two decades.”
Karen Lund, head of partner pro-
grammes for The VEKA UK Group
commented: “Stephen and the Goli-
ath team have been instrumental in
the development of Network VEKA
from the start. These figures further
cement them as brilliant ambassa-
dors for the organisation, and we
congratulate them on this fantastic
achievement, and thank them for
their ongoing efforts.”

BIG NAME

Internationally renowned machinery
expert elumatec has become the latest ma-
jor firm to appoint Purplex.
Already well established in the aluminium
sector, elumatec recently launched a new
collection of PVCu fabrication machines,
including the highly-advanced Flex Centre
160. The business has appointed Purplex
to boost brand awareness among PVCu
fabricators.
Managing director Phil Heavey comment-
ed: “elumatec is the world’s largest win-
dow machinery company and we recently
announced a strategic partnership with PVCu
machine manufacturer Sturtz, with plans to
showcase a new selection of machines at
the FIT Show in May. We needed an agency
to help us engage with a new audience and
Purplex was the obvious choice. They have a
strong track record in the glass and glazing
industry and the skills and resources we
need to take our business to the next level.”
Purplex managing director Andrew Scott,
commented: “We’re delighted to be working
with a big name like elumatec and we look
forward to helping Phil and the team win
more business, and achieve their goals in
the year ahead.”

TOP TURN-OUT
TO PIGS PARTY
People in Glazing Soci-
ety (PIGS) saw another suc-
cessful event at the Castle-
field Rooms in Manchester.
The first 2017 event drew
in people from across the
entire glazing industry for
drinks, nibbles and fun
networking.
PIGS organiser and client
strategy director at Balls2
Marketing, Sarah Ball said:
“It’s always one of our most
popular PIGS events but I
think this was our best-at-
tended yet. We almost hit
the 200 attendees mark and
it was great to see faces old
and new enjoying a drink
and a good chat.”
As usual, PIGS received
fantastic support from the
industry, with 36 companies
and organisations spon-
soring the event on 2nd
March.
Sarah continued: “PIGS
doesn’t make a profit – it’s
all about getting people in
glazing together for a good
time. As ever, we have our
fantastic industry sponsors
to thank for making PIGS
happen. An extra thanks to
GAP, who gave us a boost of
funds when the bar ran dry
on the night.”
There are three further
PIGS events planned for
2017. The next is in London
on 11th May. There will be
a first-time PIGS in Glasgow
event in the summer and
Birmingham will finish off
the year.
