APRIL 2017 | 3 News Read online at www.proinstaller.co.uk A COLLABORATION FOR THE AGES This year Roseview Windows celebrates its 40th anniversary since opening for business in 1977 – and while the company still resides just 50 yards from its first location in Olney, Buckinghamshire, much has changed at this UK sash window manufacturer. Today the business fabri- cates 600 sash windows a week, which totals around 15,000 units per year, as well as employing a team of 85 people. Roseview Windows was estab- lished at a time when PVCu was at the beginning of its own journey as a mainstream window material. But within a few years the firm be- gan working with REHAU fabricat- ing early casements and doors and has never looked back. The collaboration between the two businesses continued when in 1985 REHAU began develop- ing a revolutionary new vertical slider sash window and Roseview Windows became the chosen fabricator. ‘WELD DONE’ PVCu systems supplier The VEKA UK Group has invested £35,000 in new machinery for the company’s workshop. The Burnley-based group has upgraded to a newer, more efficient Urban three-head welder to replace an older model. The workshop is an area of the plant ded- icated to development work, ensuring that The VEKA UK Group can work alongside customers and hardware suppliers to part- ner on various exciting projects, as well as continually testing and improving product ranges. It includes a host of test rigs and facilities to fabricate and assess all variants of VEKA and Halo products and there are three full-time members of staff working in this department. Managing director of The VEKA UK Group Dave Jones said: “We are always proud to invest in technology for our plant, as it represents an investment in UK manu- facturing and the ongoing partnerships we share with our customers. We’re committed to improving facilities wherever possible, in- cluding the workshop, and the new welder will make this department run even more efficiently, further improving the high levels of service we offer.” www.vekauk.com The partnership was due in part to a representative of REHAU, Willie Kerr, who first approached Roseview Windows about working together on the project. Willie is now the managing director at the company. He shared his thoughts on the reasons behind the success of the business. “Roseview Windows has been built up as a quality brand, which has come through our work with REHAU and positioning ourselves as a high-end business. We have also had considerable growth through the provision of alternative PVCu products as well. “Our position in the market means we don’t compete with other businesses. If customers don’t want to go ahead with us, then that’s ok but we don’t compromise our service and that has definitely been a plus for us. They come to us because we are quality, and that is something we will continue. “We also let people know what we’re up to and have won several awards in recent years. In 2013 we won New Product of the Year for the Ultimate Rose REHAU sash window, and in 2016 we won the G Award for Customer Initiative of the Year, thanks to our free cus- tomer training scheme which sees us training installers and their sales people on our products.” For more information visit www.roseview.co.uk KNOWLEDGE HUB The FENSA Knowledge Hub (FKH) is a new web- based management and marketing tool. It processes all the information installers input during the notifica- tion process on the FENSA website – and offers it to them as easy to understand, informative data, much of which is graphicall y pre- sented. It is available free to FENSA members. FENSA installers will be able to evaluate their performance and prices against the market average, identify sales and marketing opportunities, view their inspection history, compare performance over the previ- ous year and more besides. All the knowledge on the FKH comes from the notification process, so is information already sup- plied by FENSA installers. This is then combined with local government informa- tion on population, housing stock etc. Each installer will be able to see only their company specific data – and will not be able to view any other installers’ information. But, installers will be able to view industry aggregated data by Local Authority area or nationally. For those interested in joining FENSA and gaining access to FKH, please visit www.fensa.co.uk There is also an in- depth Help Section on the FKH website itself.
