LHC is a leading notfor-profit public sector purchasing consortium that provides best value procurement solutions for the refurbishment, retrofit and maintenance of social housing, schools and other public sector buildings in England, Wales and Scotland. Perth-based Sidey was awarded ‘PVC-U Window and Door Project’ for its work with Fife Housing Association, having refur- bished hundreds of social housing properties throughout the region. Joint MD Steve Hardy explains: “We started work with Fife HA and the LHC just over five years ago and, to date, we have fitted new windows and doors for more than 1,500 properties throughout Fife. “The feedback and support we have received from tenants and the housing association alike has been fantastic and we are delighted to be making a difference to the quality of homes in the Fife area.” The company not only met, but far exceeded the demanding targets for the award. “The quality of the Halo products we use was definitely a contributing factor in our win, as we know these high-spec PVC-U systems carry all the accreditations demanded in social housing projects. “As well as product quality, we were praised for client satisfaction, service and using local employment for direct and support services. “One of the main things that helped us take home the trophy was the fact that we achieved 100% for waste minimisation. “In line with our ISO14001/ISO9001/ OHSAS18001 Integrated Management System, Sidey has a Total Waste Recycling Strategy for all of our products which allows us to recycle ALL of the waste that we generate on refurbishment projects. “We partner with the UK’s leading waste management companies.
