NASA Ames Space Settlement Contest

As part of the NASA Ames Space Settlement, students from grade 10, 11& 12 developed space settlement designs and related materials for NASA on 15th February 2019. Five groups from Pristine Private School took part in this contest. While designing the space colony, an interdisciplinary approach was followed, and it gave students insights into related fields of interest.

Yr 12 and 13 project “Tawteen” won 3rd prize in this contest. A unique aspect of Tawteen is that it strives to be a model for future medical and scientific research as well as a fully functioning residential complex, even going as far as to have its own agricultural and industrial complex which will enable harvests and local production of goods. The settlement takes inspiration from UAE's hyper loop in order to facilitate a modern, future forward means of transport.
