Chevron Readers’ Cup Semifinal Round 2019 was hosted by Pristine Private School
Primary and Secondary students participated in the annual Chevron Readers’ Cup competition held by the Emirates Literature Festival.
Each year students collaborate and demonstrate their exceptional reading skills. The focus of the competition is more than participating and bringing laurels to the school, it is about applying the reading skills acquired and the process of working as a team prior to the competition. The preparation for the competition entails extensive discussion sessions where students give and receive feedback from peers and other team members, share credit and ideas, acknowledge peers’ skills and experiences.
The competition was extremely tough with 79 teams from a number of schools participating. One secondary team, with students from Years 7 – 10 qualified and participated in the final round held on the 4th March 2019.
