Understanding human behaviours and having empathy for what people are experiencing is critical to a successful transition. In order to do this develop the following:
1. Integrity – Walk the talk and always lead by example; Do as I do, not as I say.
2. Actively Listen – Use both hearing and vision senses. Look for and address any mismatch between the spoken word and body language.
3. Management and Leadership – Balance project delivery (management) with creating the future (leadership).
