watched the news on TV, was quite happy to ignore the
issue until she knew more.
An hour later, after watching a quiz show together,
Polly couldn’t resist the subject any longer and had a
suggestion to make. “I know where Dave’s son lives. I
could drive you to see the area tomorrow morning ...it
might help if you could see the estate before you hear
more about the haunting. What do you think?”
Sarah was not deceived – in spite of Polly’s initial
protests, she was, as always, eager to get to grips with
any new problem. Her practical approach and support
had proved invaluable in the past, so Sarah did not have
the heart to refuse; it might even be a good idea.
They decided to have an early night, so that they
could drive around the estate before the working day
started. Who knew what might emerge from the morning
gloom?
