For GMercyU’s Dean of the School of Business and Education Heather Pfleger, MBA,
EdD, education isn’t her only passion.
Throughout her career, Heather has accumulated extensive expertise in banking and
higher education. Getting her start in the banking industry, Heather worked as an
economist at various organizations including Chase Bank in their World Division in
New York City. Once she became a mother of her two sons, she moved into higher
education, where she spent 20 years at Centenary College in various roles including the
Dean for Outcomes Assessment Research and Dean for Business and Education. She
arrived at GMercyU in 2011, continuing her path in higher education, in which she
now has nearly 30 years of experience.

She was immediately drawn to the Mercy Mission and fell in love with GMercyU. In
addition to her students and her wonderful colleagues, Heather’s favorite part of being
at Gwynedd Mercy University is the Mercy Charism and the incredible mission of the
Sisters of Mercy.
Heather earned her bachelor’s in eonomics from Rutgers University, her MBA in
finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and her EdD in Instructional Leadership
from St. John’s University.
