•As of 22 February 2016, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of
Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan was transformed into the
Ministry of Labour of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
•The Ministry will now focus on systematic analysis the level of
employment of the population, coordinating the development of annual
programs for job creation, providing employment for the population and
rational use of labor resources, organization for the unemployed,
especially for youth, women and persons with disabilities an efficient
system for vocational education and retraining, assisting them in finding
employment with the extensive use of modern information and
communication technologies.
•Within 1st half of 2016 more than 462 000 jobs had been created.
•The Ministry is responsible for implantation of Uzbekistan’s international
ILO obligations.
