Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join?

Visit www.padental.org/join to submit a membership application. PDA staff will forward you a dues invoice, if necessary. Once you remit payment of dues, PDA staff will forward you a welcome email containing details of some of your many membership benefits. If you have questions, please contact the PDA Membership Dept at [email protected].

I’m entering a residency. Can I still join?

Yes! Once you have an active PA dental license, you will be eligible for tripartite membership. As a resident, you are eligible for Graduate Student Dues, which are $30 per year for ADA and $25 per year for PDA (district amounts vary). By maintaining your membership during your program, you can put the Graduated Dues Structure “on hold” and receive those dues reductions once you complete the program.

Recent grads are automatically enrolled in the ADA and PDA Graduated Dues Structure, which offers four years of significant savings on dues as you establish your career.

I’m entering a residency in PA, but I don’t have an active PA dental license. I’m not sure if I will practice in PA.

Can I still be a member?

Which district society will I join?

District and local dental societies are determined based on your primary practice location. PDA staff will include your district and local society information with your welcome email.

Residents have the option of joining the ADA directly. Please click here and submit a Graduate Student Application. Once you have an active dental license, you will be eligible for tripartite membership within the state in which you are licensed to practice.
