Eastwood Students Help Send
Ugandan Children to School
The Eastwood SGA has organized “Warrior
Wear” days as a way to help sponsor 13
Ugandan students to attend school this year.
On Fridays, in exchange for a small donation
to Zana School, ECS students are allowed to
wear Eastwood School sportswear instead of
uniforms. These small donations grow to a
generous amount which is donated to Zana
at the end of the year.
Eastwood Christian School has just kicked off the 5th year of their
partnership with Zana Christian Community School in Kampala,
Uganda. This partnership began when a group of Eastwood students
visited the school on a summer mission trip several years ago. The Zana
School offers quality education to 85 students in South Central Uganda.
Many of the Zana students depend on the school for nutrition as well
as education, and each student’s tuition includes the meals they eat at
school.
“Our students are able to opt out of wearing
our normal uniforms on Friday by making
a donation to Zana Christian School. It
does make you feel good that our small
donations can make such a big difference,”
says SGA president, Catherine Cowden,
"Most students would agree that being able to
wear sportswear to school now and then also
makes them feel good!"
