About: An Alabama Independent School Association Blue Rib-
bon School, Autauga Academy has been providing quality
education in Autauga County for over 45 years. Their mission
is to ensure a quality education for traditional students by
providing a family environment that embodies Christian values
with small classes, a qualified faculty, a fully accredited academic
program, and a safe learning environment. Autauga Academy
has a strong history of community service, such as the food drive
sponsored by the SGA, Operation Christmas Child, Care
Packages for U.S. Troops, and the annual SGA blood drive.
Class Size: Autauga Academy’s class sizes are small, with a
student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1. Small classes mean more time
for individual instruction.
Academics: Autauga Academy boasts a rich academic
heritage with students consistently outscoring the national
average on standardized tests. High level classes are available to
students, such as advanced English, chemistry, physics and up to
the first level of calculus. With the new dual enrollment
agreement with Troy University, students are able to take up to
five dual enrollment classes in a calendar year, earning college
credit while still in high school. Numerous academic
competition opportunities are available, such as the AISA
Technology Fair, Auburn University Robotics Competition, and
more.
College Prep: Autauga Academy ensures post-secondary suc-
cess by offering a general and college preparatory curriculum. In
addition to the college prep program and dual enrollment
opportunities, Autauga Academy has a guidance counselor on
staff to assist students in the college selection and application
process. There is also an ACT prep course available to high
school students which meets daily for one semester. Over 92%
of Autauga Academy students go on to attend college and in
2015, thirty-one graduates received a total of $1,071,300 in
scholarship offers at 13 different colleges and universities.
Athletics: Autauga Academy offers several varsity athletics
programs, including football, volleyball, basketball, baseball,
softball, track, golf, soccer, cheerleading, and power weight
lifting. Prospective college athletes receive assistance in the
college selection and application process, and Autauga Academy
athletes have gone on to play at Alabama, Troy, Judson, Faulkner,
Vanderbilt, and others.
Career-based Programs: Autauga Academy offers both a
college preparatory program and a program for those who wish
to enter the workforce or trade program after graduation.
