Prattville’s Lauren Chambliss
Wins Autauga County DYW
The Autauga County Distinguished Young Woman competition for
2017 was held at Prattville High School on July 23rd, 2016. Eight
young women, representing Autaugaville High School, East Memorial
Christian Academy, and Prattville High School, competed to become
Autauga County’s Distinguished Young Woman. The winners are
Lauren Chambliss, 2017 Autauga County Distinguished Young
Woman, Grace Glidden, first runner up, and Hannah Edwards, second
runner up. Winners in the categories were: Scholarship, Interview and
Fitness- Lauren Chambliss, first runner–up Grace Glidden, TalentLeah Temple (vocal), first runner–up Lauren Chambliss (piano), and
Self-Expression- Grace Glidden, first runner–up Lauren Chambliss.
The Spirit of Distinguished Young Women winner was Caitlyn Baker.
Two scholarships were awarded by Troy University- Lauren Chambliss
was the recipient of the Millennium Scholar’s Award and Grace
Glidden and Hannah Edwards received the Chancellor’s Award.
Lauren will compete in the state competition January 20-21, 2017 at
Frazer United Methodist Church in Montgomery. The Distinguished
Young Woman of Alabama will compete in Mobile on July 22, 2017 for
the title of America’s Distinguished Young Woman.
