from the publisher contributors It’s fall—a time for change, publisher and the Mashburns have had some changes. Our oldest, Spencer, is off at school. Well actually, he’s only 10 mins away, but he’s not living here, so he’s officially “off at school.” I seriously underestimated how much I would miss him. My other boys have been relegated to constant hugging (especially before bed) as I’m now realizing this time with them is counting down, and this time with them IS precious. Pam Mashburn editor Jennifer Kornegay art director Heather Cooper graphic design Heather Cooper Lauren Childs I’m so thankful that my oldest is enjoying college (well, mostly the social part of it), and it’s hard to not be happy for him. He’s learning a lot of life lessons that can’t be taught at home, and I’m learning that to listen is more important than constantly trying to parent. Our transition to coach and advisor is starting, and like it or not, we’ll be completely there in four years. I’m so thankful for this season to parent these young men (even when they do knuckleheaded things), and they are SO thankful for the nightly hugs! My advice, “Get your hugs in while you can!” Thank you for going through this parenting journey with us—We’re all in it together! editorial contributors Jasmine York Amy Presley Angie Hayden Megan Dorsey Thomas Rains Michael Lux Michelle Walden CollegeCounts Children’s of Alabama Waldorf College Jennifer Kornegay proofreader Brittany Hamilton marketing & social media Amy Presley Angie Hayden pam mashburn [email protected] 334-578-7810 countdown-to-college workshop coordinator Amy Presley p.s.
