how it began
Lexie has attended Alabama Christian Academy since she was
in kindergarten, where her love and passion for the Lord has
grown over the years. At school, her favorite teacher is Ms. Ivey
her English teacher, “She really wants to interact with us and
she makes the subject interesting by relating it to God.”
Her grandfathers have always been strong influences in her
life. She enjoys spending time with them—especially when they
go deer hunting. She has become an experienced hunter with
their help over the years, but she has always enjoyed the time
spent with them more.
what’s next
Growing up, Lexie has always enjoyed going to the dental office
where her mom works and after she graduates, she hopes to
attend the University of Alabama and pursue a career as an
Orthodontist. She has always had a kind heart and would like
to have a career where she can give back, “I’d like to be
remembered as a person who always helped others.”
PG (parental guidance) rating
Lexie has grown into a motivated and confident young woman
and gives credit to her mom, Amanda, as being the biggest
source of encourgement in her life. “She is always wanting me
to do my best and is always helping me to do what’s right. She
has taught me to believe in myself.”

parents’ perspective
Amanda Armstrong admires Lexie’s willingness to work hard to
reach her goals. “I have tried to always teach her to be her own
person, not following others but to instead form her own path.”
Amanda attended Troy University pursuing a business
administration degree. After working at a desk job, she decided to
change her major, and attended UAB to become a Dental
Hygienist. My own parents afforded me every opportunity to
pursue my interests. They also continued to support me until I
found a career that fit my skills and personality.
parent-to-parent
“I believe that no matter what you do, always do your
best. If things don’t work out as you want but you did
your best, who could ever question that?!” Amanda feels strongly
that people should pursue careers that they are passionate about,
“Always be an encouraging parent whether or not you always
approve of their decisions.”
