Prattville Christian Academy Hires Charlie Boren, Former Faulkner Head Coach Prattville Christian Academy is pleased to announce that Charlie Boren has been hired as the Director of Football Operations, effective June 1. Coach Boren comes to PCA from Faulkner University where he most recently served as the head football coach. Since 2014, he has led the Eagles to an overall record of 29-13. Before moving into collegiate coaching, Boren was also successful in high school athletics. He led the programs at Midfield, Montevallo, Bibb County and Saint Clair County in Alabama, Trinity Show Choir and Dance Ensemble Perform at Disneyland in California Trinity’s Show Choir and Dance Ensemble, which includes over 30 Upper School Trinity students, recently spent an exciting and educational weeklong trip to Los Angeles, California, where they took dance classes and performed at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. This informative trip gave dance and shows choir students an opportunity to meet new emerging artists, as well as work with experienced professionals and broadens their views of the dance and singing community. Students attending this trip were Dance Ensemble and Show Choir Members: Katherine Albrecht, Anne Price Bishop, Madison Bowen, Wallace Bryan, Ensley Craven, Mary Curles, Rivers Dorey, Mollie Flotemersch, Taylor Griggs, Carsyn Hawkins, Anna Hixon, Sarah Howe, Maggie Jacques, Caleb Kreitz, Lauren LeGrand, Anne Catharine Logan, Reese Lynch, Hannah McDaniel, Will Merrill, Coleman Morris, McKenzie Parker, Caroline Parkman, Emmalyne Phillips, Mary Ann Pittman, Olivia Reid, Amanda Roberson, Daniel Sellers, Mary Emily Taylor, McKay Taylor, Charlie Ward, Sydney Kate Welch, Benton Willis and Welden Willis. Under the Direction of: Jenny Letner Dance Ensemble and Jordan Sullivan Show Choir Chaperones: Jordy Cheney, Amy Nunn, and Meredith Peden L6 | Summer 2018 as well as Newton County in Mississippi, to an overall record of 113-81. During this time, he had four top 10 finishes and placed 17 players on all-state teams. As a native of Birmingham, Alabama, Boren earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Jacksonville State University, a master’s degree in physical education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a specialist’s degree in physical education from the University of Montevallo. Boren and his wife Linda, also a PCA faculty member, have been married for 33 years; they have three grown children and six grandchildren. ACA Teacher Selected as “Class Act” Teacher Each week WSFA receives nominations and selects a teacher in the River Region as a “Class Act” teacher. Alabama Christian Academy is proud to recognize middle school teacher and coach, John Dockins, as a WSFA “Class Act” winner. “JL”, as he is commonly known, is from Russellville, Kentucky. He graduated from Faulkner University in the spring of 2015 with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Biblical Studies. He also played 4 years for the Faulkner Eagles baseball team.
