Bridge Builders Alabama , a 2-year high school youth leadership program in the River Region , equips students to serve their communities in a meaningful way and a group of our seniors is doing just that !

Saint James School Students Earns Two Gold Keys and Seven Silver Keys
The 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing , Southeast Art Region-at-Large program awards were announced on January 30 , 2018 . Saint James School students received several nods from the judges including two Gold Keys , seven Silver Keys , and nine Honorable Mentions . The two Gold Key works will advance to the National competition and those results will be released in the spring .
The Saint James School recipients of the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing , Southeast Art Region-at-Large program awards include : Michelle Lee : Gold Key for Drawing , and Gold Key for Painting ; Michelle also won two Silver Keys for two Painting pieces , two Honorable Mentions for two Drawing entries , and one Honorable Mention for an additional Painting piece . Amanda Grate was awarded a Silver Key for Mixed Media ; Jake Hastings won a Silver Key for Painting ; Anna Kreischer earned a Silver Key for Drawing ; Amari Simmons won a Silver Key for Digital Art ; and Ella Skier won a Silver Key for Printmaking . Honorable Mention recognition was awarded to Kylie Eng for Drawing , Sam Prickett for Drawing , Amari Simmons for two Digital Art pieces , and to Ella Skier for two Drawing pieces .
After completing two week-long leadership conferences focused on inclusion , diversity and service , these ten students jumped all-in to serve the Adullam House in Wetumpka , AL . The Adullam House is a home for children of incarcerated parents and is funded solely on donations .
The Bridge Builders students found a way to connect the programs by offering a service-related pageant on March 3rd . Participants are judged based on their community service and an outfit created from goods at the Adullam House Thrift Store . The pageant was held at Adullam House Christian Academy in Wetumpka . All proceeds went to the Adullam House .

Churchill Academy ’ s Got Talent
The 2018 Talent Show at Churchill Academy was a terrific success featuring 2 days of student performances . Students entertained peers , parents , and teachers with karate demonstrations , musical performances , comedic acts , and more .
Churchill Academy high school dance classes also performed many ballroom dance routines of varying styles , and the Spanish Class performed an original skit in Spanish .
Instructor Judy Hall closed the 2018 show by applauding the efforts of Churchill Academy students in the planning , production , and performance of the annual student-led event .
