“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or
that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess
that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.”

her story
Alexandria’s calling is music- marching band in particular! She
has been a member of the Saint James Marching Band for six
years, and currently leads as Drum Major. Alexandria is also
a First Chair clarinet player in the STJ Concert Band, and has
won numerous awards, such as the ABA Music Performance
Assessment Superior Honors Achievement. Outside of band,
Alexandria participates in the STJ Science Olympiad team, and
volunteers with Adullam House and Shepherd’s Staff. While she
strives for excellence in all she does, Alexandria shares, “I want
to be remembered as imperfect, so I could serve as an example
of embracing your imperfections.”
what’s next
“I would like to go into the medical field, possibly as an
OBGYN or a physician’s assistant. I also aim to get a dual
degree to include a bachelor’s in music education.”

“My mom does everything as if she is doing it for the Lord, and
it makes me strive to do the same. My father wakes up before
everyone each day and works long hours helping others and
saving lives. He arrives home late at night, sometimes
exhausted, but still has enough strength to worry about me and
my day.”

parents’ perspective
“Many times, Alexandria has been very successful at what she tries
to accomplish, but not always. It is the very times she doubts herself
or is unsuccessful at first try that we admire her willingness for
additional attempts.”
parent-to-parent
Trudie and Reza share, “Our advice to parents is to not
deprive or shield your children of the setbacks or failures
life may bring. Let them try on their own, after you have
done your best to guide them. Failure is an excellent learning pro-
cess, and can be just as advantageous to success.”
