motto
“People are just people. They shouldn’t make you nervous.
We’re all people, and no one person is better than another.”
her story
As an award winning Model UN Participant and National
Spanish Exam silver medalist, Savanna has showcased her hard
work and desire to create her own path, no matter the risk.
She is currently a member of the LAMP Model UN Team and
Metamorphosis Club.
Savanna draws her inspiration from her grandfather who she
says, “has taught me to be kind to others and to remember that
everyone has their own problems, so I should be friendly and
understanding with everyone.” No matter what she is doing,
Savanna tries to keep an open mind and be a person who stays
true to herself.
what’s next
“I have no idea! There are so many options and so many things
I want to try. Right now I want to be either an Elementary
School teacher, a journalist, or a graphic designer, but that
could all change by next week!”
PG (parental guidance) rating
Savanna appreciates that her parents are interested in the same
things she is interested in. Her favorite thing about her dad is
that “he is smart and knows a lot about random things. He’s always up for a debate or intellectual conversation with me.” “My
mom is really youthful,” she adds, “and she’s fun to be around.
We share clothes and makeup; we’re like best friends.”

parents’ perspective
Savanna’s mother, Renea, admires her mental focus and strength.
“She is very organized and focused even when the environment
around her may be chaotic”, she says. Her parents add that “she has
a beautiful heart and is always looking for ways to make others
happy.”
parent-to-parent
Ted and Renea suggest that other parents encourage their
children to do their best and to ask for help if needed. In
addition, Renea recommends that parents “remember no child is
perfect. What works for one family and one child may not work for
everyone else.”
