The City of Tallassee is known as the ‘ Treasure on the Tallapoosa .’ Tallassee rests between eastern Elmore County and western Tallapoosa County . Tallassee City Schools is an outstanding public school system in the heart of Alabama . Nearly half of our high school students participate in show choir or marching band , making our music programs one of the best in the state .
Athletically , Tallassee has enjoyed much success in numerous sports such as football , wrestling , baseball , track and field , cross country , soccer , softball , volleyball , and basketball .
Our high school and middle school students use iPads in their classrooms as part of a one-to-one technology initiative where our students learn in a blended learning environment . We will soon be opening our Career Center where our students will be able to take dual enrollment classes here in our own community . It seems as though ‘ Treasure on the Tallapoosa ’ is a fitting reference for our school system too .
