Micah often reminds himself of these words : “ I am perfect in the eyes of God .” He adds , “ When I get discouraged about things I can ’ t change about myself or the things I don ’ t have , I repeat that motto in my head .”

Micah takes his education seriously , and he works hard at everything he does . He has been awarded the Principal ’ s Award for his academic achievements twice , and has placed first in several academic competitions . Micah is heavily involved in the arts , especially music . He has been to the Alabama District Honor Band Competition three times , and the Alabama Band All-State Competition twice . In addition , he plays clarinet for the Montgomery Youth Orchestra . When asked how he wants to be remembered as a result of his achievements , Micah replied , “ It would be nice to have a worldwide legacy when I ’ m gone and to have many grand achievements , but in all honesty , I would reather be remembered as a good-hearted person . I want to be remembered as someone who made a positive impact on the lives of others .”

Micah is interested in a career in either medicine or law . “ If I go to medical school , I would want to be an oncologist or a psychiatrist . If I choose law , I might practice as an attorney in intellectual property or medical malpractice ,” he explains .
