About: A member of the Alabama Community College System,
Coastal Alabama Community College was formed in January
2017 as a result of the consolidation of Faulkner State Community
College, Alabama Southern Community College and Jefferson
Davis Community College. Each of the previous institutions
recently celebrated 50 years of service to their communities when
the consolidation was announced. Today, Coastal Alabama
proudly continues that service on the rich foundation it was
built.

Clubs: With organizations such as the Ambassadors and Pow
Wows, Honors Program, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor

students have tons of options for campus leadership. Addition-
ally, clubs such as the Bass Fishing Club, the Sci-Fi Fiction Club
and College Bowl allow students to network with others who
have similar interests.

• Fairhope takes to the skies as they host the John L. Borom
Alabama Coastal Birdfest each year. For a week, visitors from
all over the country, and even from outside of the country,
come to south Alabama to take part in kayak excursions,
birdwatching trails and walking tours to spot some of the area’s
most unique birds.

• In 2017, the nursing program in Bay Minette and Fairhope
was ranked number one in the State, even against four-year
universities.

Center of Excellence for pulp and paper technology training.
