“ My family has provided the most inspiration for me in my life . I lost my mother when I was nine years old from a heart attack . My aunt and uncle took me and my sister in , and treated us as their own children . People ask me all the time about why I refer to my aunt as my mom . I do that because that is who she is to me . Through the rough times , we have kept strong faith and put God first .” parents ’ perspective
Andrea and Ken are extremely proud of Cameron ’ s determination and focus . They express , “ Cameron has a well-defined vision of his future path , along with the knowledge of how his goals are to be achieved .” parent-to-parent
Ken offers this advice to other parents : “ Believe in and support your child ’ s dreams . Always be there to provide guidance and direction toward the attainment of those dreams . Remember that we have lived our lives , and that our children should be allowed to live their own lives as well . Always put God first .” www . potentialmagazine . com Fall 2016 | 23
