Thanks to Splurge Boutique and our
group of super cute models for wearing
the fashions so well! And a big thanks to
The Waters in Pike Road for providing
such a beautiful location for the shoot.
flared out
Skinny jeans are on their way out and
most fashion forecasters see straight,
bootcut and even flare-leg denim in
lighter washes leading the pack this fall.
Let summer linger on just a bit longer
with these loose-fitting, light-colored
tops, that goes with everything.

The Best Looks for
Back to School
The first day is always the hardest to
plan for. You definitely want to make a
statement, but you don’t want to look
like you’re trying too hard. Try mixing
prints, but stay in the same color
family. When it comes to your makeup,
stick with a natural look—any of the
Urban Decay Naked palettes,
combined with Bare Minerals BUXOM
mascara and a little Stila lip and cheek
stain, and you are good to go!
If your school requires a uniform,
shoes and accessories will be your best
friends. Choose a small handbag in
a neutral color that you can carry all
year. Keep your jewelry simple too; I
love the Alex and Ani charm bracelets
from Belk.
A FEW TIPS
INVEST IN AN AWESOME PAIR
OF KICKS! Whether it’s a cool pair
of sneakers or a nice pair of flats,
splurge on a pair you love so you can
wear them over and over again with
completely different outfits. I’m loving
that the original Van’s Classic Slip-On
sneakers are back in style. They go
perfect with school uniforms or your
casual weekend look. Also, you can
never go wrong with the classic Tory
Burch Reva Flat! From snakeskin to
patent leather, you can find the perfect
pair to match your personality.
TRANSITION YOUR SUMMER
CLOTHES INTO FALL There’s no
need to buy an entire new wardrobe
when you can easily transition your
spring/summer clothes into the fall
season. Pair your favorite flower skater
skirt with a long-sleeve shirt and booties for a fresh approach to Fall.
GET ORGANIZED!
Your wardrobe is not the only thing
you need to be worried about for Back
to School! Don’t forget about school
supplies. There are so many retailers
that are carrying fashionable AND
functional items. I especially love May
Designs. They have notebooks and

academic planners that can be personalized with your own design and
monogram!
FOR THE GUYS
Guys are really starting to step up to
the plate with fashion. Don’t be afraid
to wear a blazer with dark denim and a
rolled up cuff or even slim fit corduroys
and a V-neck tee. Fall is a great time for
guys to reinvent their wardrobe. Mix
your classic Ralph Lauren shirts with a
pair of relaxed fit, broken-in Levi’s.
FALL FASHION
TRENDS:
PLAID: In tribute to 90s fashion, plaid
is back in. From skirts to shirts, shoes
to accessories, you’ll see plaid showing up everywhere. And it’s not the
only old trend making its way around
again. High-top sneakers, Mary Janes,
knee socks and rock ‘n roll graphic tees
are also back.
HIGH-WAISTED JEANS: This trend
goes hand-in-hand with crop tops,
so be sure to stock up on camisoles.
Tuck a solid color cami into a pair of
high-waisted jeans and pair it with a
crop sweater to rock this trend.
STRAIGHT-LEGGED JEANS: Guys
will be diverging from the skinny jean
look to the slightly wider straight leg.
ATHLETIC WEAR: You don’t have to
be an athlete to pull off the sporty look
this season. You’ll see many
color-block athletic pants and shorts
that are not only comfortable, but are
actually fashion-forward as well. Look
for varsity jackets and graphic tees
with sports-inspired images.
SLIP-ON SNEAKERS: Tween girls
will be shining in embellished slip-on
sneakers this year. In leopard and
camo prints or adorned with rhinestones, these shoes are sure to make a
major fashion statement.
