Brain Studies
Prove Why
Teens Are More
Impulsive,
Reactionary
Than Adults
The frontal lobe (the part of
the brain in charge of
reasoning and weighing
risks) takes an average of
25 years
to fully develop and, in
some cases, up to 30 years. This
explains why teens are more
impulsive and reactionary than
adults.

These college drop-outs found opportunities to achieve multi-millionaire status:
• R yan Seacrest turned a high school internship at a radio station into his own show before
dropping out of the University of Georgia. He later moved to Hollywood and is now a
multi-millionaire radio and TV host.
• Steven Spielberg was rejected by some of the best film schools in the nation, then later
enrolled in and dropped out of Cal State Long Beach. He’s now a billionaire movie director,
producer, and co-founder of DreamWorks.
• O prah Winfrey dropped out of Tennessee State University lacking only one college class—
thirteen years and 28,000 guests later—she returned to finish her remaining class, earning her
degree and speaking at commencement.
• P aul Allen dropped out of the University of Washington and later convinced Bill Gates to drop
out of Harvard so the two could start Microsoft. Now they’re both billionaires.
