ASVAB Road Map
BEFORE YOU START:
By using the Career Exploration through the ASVAB CEP,
you can research careers using the asvabprogram.com
website. Take your information about your strengths,
weaknesses, and interests and complete the following steps:
Enter your access code and register your email address;
this will allow you to easily sign in the next time.
If you haven’t already, take the Find Your Interests (FYI)
and review your Career Exploration Scores.
Using the OCCU-Find, search by interest codes and
sort by your primary ASVAB CEP Strength. You can
also choose a featured category, like STEM Careers,
Bright Outlook, or Green Careers. STEM occupations
require education in science, technology, engineering,
and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Bright Outlook
occupations are expected to grow rapidly in the next
several years, will have large numbers of job openings,
or are new and emerging occupations. Green occupations
will likely change as a result of the green economy. Green
economy activities and technologies are increasing the
demand for occupations, shaping the work and worker
requirements needed for occupational performance, or
generating new and emerging occupations.
As you start working through the list of careers, there will
be some that you find noteworthy. At the top of the page
(next to the job title) is a button for notes, and a button to
add to favorites.
Choose five careers, favorite them and make notes ex-
plaining why you would be interested in doing that type
of work; also note any hesitations you may have about
pursuing a particular career.
After you have chosen your favorites and made notes for
at least five careers, click on the ASVAB logo and go back
to your dashboard. Under step 2, choose My Favorites.
You can easily compare details and your notes for each
occupation side by side.
