Hitting the road as a session guitarist
with artist Mat Kearney has been
an experience in itself. As a bonus,
Spicer has landed his soles on stage
at a few famous venues, including:
• “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”
• “Jimmy Kimmel Live”
• Capitol Studios in LA to record a
Live iTunes session

“As a session guitarist in Nashville, I’ve had the
chance to play on some really cool stuff. Artists
I play with have songs on ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’
‘Private Practice,’ ‘Vampire Diaries’ and various
others. It’s still an amazing feeling to hear
yourself playing on the radio or TV.”
like father, like son:
“I got started in music because of my dad. He
played a little bit of everything and sang quite
a bit. When I was about 10, my older brother
wanted to take guitar lessons, and I kind of
tagged along. My dad was there encouraging
and teaching me the whole way.”
biggest fans:
“I chose to pursue music because it made sense
to me. My parents have always seen that and
have been the most supportive people. I think
they still get more excited than I do at some
of the opportunities I’ve had! They’ve never
pressured me to do anything other than what
I’m passionate about. Whether it’s buying me
my first guitar, paying for lessons or driving to
Nashville to see me play a show, they’ve always
been wonderfully supportive.”
