46 | THE FACULTY OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES School of Medicine We offer a portfolio of exciting courses to suit a wide range of postgraduate students, from three MSc Medical Engineering courses, through to postgraduate certificates, diplomas and masters courses in either Medical Education or Medical Science, to single CPD courses and modules. We offer a range of courses for clinicians including courses in Medical Education, Medical Sciences and in Clinical Leadership & Management, the latter also being relevant to healthcare management staff. Our courses are tailored to suit busy working lives and to meet the professional development needs of doctors and other clinicians. Much of our teaching takes place either at historic Keele Hall or at the David Weatherall Building with its state of the art anatomy and surgery training suite. We specialise in clinical leadership and management courses and development programmes. These are delivered either at Keele or on a bespoke basis, at venues throughout th e country. Guest speakers include both national and local policy makers to ensure that our courses and programmes align to the vision and direction of modern, world class, healthcare, so our students gain experience and build skills and knowledge critical for the needs of society today and in the future. Our long established and highly successful Biomedical Engineering and Cell & Tissue Engineering courses are run in conjunction with the Research Institute for Science and Technology in Medicine. Building skills for real-life Teaching for our three Medical Engineering courses takes place at the Guy Hilton Research Centre. This is located immediately adjacent to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, providing our students with access to clinical sites and workshops, seminar rooms and an all-important direct connection with the full range of clinical activities. The Centre offers patient treatment facilities alongside state-of-the-art equipment for translational research including specially designed cell therapy suites, genomic facilities and advanced laser and diagnostic laboratories.
