“In my ‘other’ life I was an Ohio State Trooper, then in later years a Detective Sergeant with the Canton, Ohio Sheriff’s De- partment. Part of my education while earning a BA Degree in Law Enforcement Administration at Kent State University was crime scene photography. e camera was one of the tools used in my work to record everything from traffic fatalities to homi- cides. I spent 23 years investigating, documenting and photographing the tragedy of human crisis and violence. After retiring, I returned to the University and studied Art Appreciation, Psychology Of e Arts, Art History, Black & White and Color Photography at the College of Fine Art, then traveled the United States, covering 49 states including Alaska; hiking and photographing in the quiet magnificence of nature. us, the transition from a world of violence, chaos and tragedy to a world of peace and tranquility; to a world that makes sense. Art makes sense; embracing us as it gives us refuge from catastrophe and despair.” I have participated in hundreds of art shows around the country receiving more than 45 awards including Best in Show, First Place Art, and First Place in Photography. My work is hanging in corporate, public and private collections all over the world. PORTFOLIO MAGAZINE 37
