sources, places and the history of Lāna’i. Each program offers participants one of a kind opportunities to experience the living history of Lāna’i including Keahi- akawelo, Koloiki and Puu Manu, Kaunolu, Keomoku, Lāna’i City and the Palawai Basin. Hikes range in skill levels from easy to moderate, from two to six hours and each seminar will also include a visit to the Lāna’i Culture & Heritage Center. With stunning views of the Pacific, the swimming pools at the Resort feature an adults-only retreat with private sanctuaries and a lagoon-style experience complete with whirlpools for an alternative to the ocean and beach. Pool attendants regularly stop by to offer treats such as agave lemon- ade, frozen fruit, magazines and more, and now guests can enjoy house-made fruit popsicles each afternoon, delivered straight from the Resort’s ice cream cart. Another swimming activity that adds a dimension of wonder to a visit here is to go snorkeling in Hulopo‘e Bay. It may be the relatively calm ocean waters sur- rounding Hawaii, or that fish understand as well as humans that this is paradise and like to vacation here, but when a swim- mer goes underwater and sees what ap- pear to be millions of fish in a myriad of colors, it becomes the world’s largest im- mersive Disney program. e fish seem to be performing for the swimmer and after a while a swimmer may feel a natu- ral kinship with aquatic creatures.
