Dennis Russell is associate professor in the Walter Cronkite School of
Journalism and Telecommunication at Arizona State University.
Russell, who holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of
Utah, specializes in popular culture. First Amendment law, and mass
media history.
Dan Shiffman is currently a visiting assistant professor of English at
Idaho State University. His research focuses on ethnicity and
American Modernism and ethnicity and popular culture. He has
previously published articles in Popular Culture Review and Studies
in Popular Culture and has articles forthcoming in MELUS and
Studies in American Humor.
