Dennis Rohatyn is a professor of philosophy at the University of San Diego,
where he has taught since 1977. Rohatyn was educated at Fordham (PhD, 1972),
then taught at Roosevelt University in Chicago for five years before moving to
Southern California. His writings include Naturalism and Deontology, Two
Dogmas o f Philosophy, The Reluctant Naturalist, Philosophy/History/Sophistry,
and Logic (with John Nolt and Achille Varsi). He has published over 150
articles in refereed journals, presented papers to audiences worldwide, and
lectured at conferences throughout the USA. His areas of interest include ethics,
aesthetics, philosophy of history, philosophy in literature, pragmatism,
transcendentalism, philosophy of education, and aesthetics. A regular at
FWACA/PCA since the 1980s, he has lectured on a wide variety of topics and
was the keynote speaker at the Twenty-First Annual Meeting.
