1 In 2006, the German production company Network Movie acquired the rights to
Follett’s A Dangerous Fortune (1993) and Whiteout (2005). The company plans to adapt
the two novels for television.

3 Follett returned to banking as a subject when he worked on the project “Country Risk”
for most of 1983 before abandoning it. His most successful novel about the world of
banking and high finance was the much later A Dangerous Fortune, published in 1993.
