2009 Achievements in Excellence
In 2009, the National Association of Town Watch recognized
the City of Arlington for its largest participation ever in National
Night Out. Arlington finished eighth among U.S. cities with more
than 300,000 people participating. The Crime Prevention Unit of the
Arlington Police Department worked with neighborhoods throughout
the city to host block parties, and celebrate the commitment of
citizens and public safety agencies to reduce crime and make
Arlington safer. National Night Out is the first Tuesday in August.
