Strategic Support Strategy
Excellent Support
As the City’s operational departments focus on economic
development, capital investment and neighborhoods, there
is a team of individuals working behind the scenes to support
strategic initiatives. The group is called Strategic Support.
The City’s strategic support strategy begins with a keen focus
on identifying information technology solutions that improve
how we work and how our customers do business with us. This
group seeks to maximize technology-based communication
tools to provide the City Council and its residents with the
information they need to make informed decisions.
In 2008, municipal court operations were streamlined and
improved, resulting in more timely hearings and court
proceedings. Progress toward identifying alternative revenue
sources was made with the formation of a grants champion
team and revenue enhancement team. The City continues to
make progress at state and federal levels through legislative
advocacy.
