SPBTS supports Mission
House remodeling efforts
St. Paul’s by-the-Sea Foundation
president, Jim Stuck, interim pastor, Reed
Freeman and Grant’s Committee Member,
Ann Brodt, presented a $2,000 check this
month to Mission House Executive Director Lori Anderson for use in remodeling
the homeless resource center’s facility on
Shetter Ave. and meeting the organization’s summer operating needs.
Community service has been a cornerstone of the life of St. Paul’s by-the-Sea
since its founding over a century ago,
and the Foundation was incorporated in
1990 for the advancement of religious,
educational and charitable Christian
activities both within the church and in
the community at large. It is funded by
donations and bequests, primarily from
parish members who give witness to
their stewardship in making provisions
for the future life and ministry of SPBTS.
St. Paul’s by the Sea is one of four
founding churches that started Mission
House in 1997. Back then the congregation donated to make the Mission House
dream a reality. Today they have assisted
the organization again in donating to
Mission House’s “Raise the Roof” campaign. Mission House is the only day
facility assisting men and women who
find themselves homeless in the Beaches
area. For more information and to see
the progress of the building please go to
