Clubs. “The exchange between the Polo Club du Domaine de Chantilly and
the SPC has been a great visit and was organised largely due to the efforts
of Diane and Marc Goldberg, presently living in Singapore and members
of both Clubs. Earlier in the year, in July, a Singapore polo team played at
the Chantilly Club (located in a beautiful part of the French countryside
north of Paris) while a visit to the SPC by a Chantilly team was organised
for November 2016. By all accounts, good fun was had by all that weekend,
despite the inclement weather – not unusual for Singapore at that time of
the year – which unfortunately meant that Saturday’s match was rained
out and an arena polo match hastily arranged as an alternative. It has to be
admitted though, that on both occasions – on their home ground as well
as here – the final scores of the respective matches had France getting the
better of Singapore. Vive le France!” Better luck next time Singapore. ◼
