PL AYER PR OFILE
THE FIRST THING I DO when
I come off the field is to have
a big sip of water and ask my
groom if all the horses are okay.
STARTED RIDING when
I was practically still
wearing nappies. I grew
up around horses on our
family farm in Natal so I’ve been
riding since I can remember.
SOUTH AFRICA remains
my favourite country to
play polo in.
MY MOM LOVES HORSES and
as a youngster she encouraged
me to try various equine sports
as she rode a lot and was also
a riding coach. The polo bug
first bit me when I was about
eight years old and learnt to
play polo on my first horse, a
small grey pony named Wispy.
I LIKE DIFFERENT FIELDS for
different reasons. But when it
comes to footing and surface
my favourite ground is the
Baron Ground at Kurland.
THE BEST ADVICE I EVER
RECEIVED was from a good
friend of mine, Joseph Bronn:
‘Life is not a dress rehearsal,
it’s the final act.’
