Writing Groups. Reading Incentives 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Nationally recognized reading incentive program encouraging parents to read to their children at a young age. Children are recognized for every 100 books they read with the goal to read a total of 1,000 books before kindergarten. Where: Auburndale, Fort Meade, Haines City, and Mulberry Excellence in Reading This is a self-paced, year-long reading challenge for children in grades K-12. Children earn reading incentives as they reach reading goals. Where: Winter Haven, Lake Alfred, and Lake Wales Paws to Read Your child's excitement for reading will definitely go up a notch after spending a few minutes reading to these special service dogs. Where: Auburndale, Bartow, Lakeland, and Mulberry Summer Reading During the summer months, be sure to check with your local library to get involved with the Summer Reading Program offering tons of fun activities and reading incentives! Beakers & Books Read and conduct science experiments in this monthly picture book science club for grades 2-5.
