RY T O O L B O X 11. LOVE AND HATE ANALYSIS Throughout the course of discovery, we identify areas that the organization loves, along with areas of concern. These are documented and used as a tool to understand organizational health and effectiveness. VIEW VIDEO 15. TRAVEL MAP Using the organization’s current floor plan, individuals produce a map of their daily path. When these maps are overlaid, circulation patterns, issues and opportunities become apparent. VIEW VIDEO 12. A DAY IN THE LIFE Using a video camera, members of the organization document themselves performing daily tasks, meetings, etc. for a period of time. This provides a baseline and helps define the organization in its current state. 16. POST-IT Users are given the chance to answer questions anonymously and without judgment. The Post-its are color coded to represent positive or negative responses, allowing us to quickly visualize the overarching feeling. VIEW VIDEO 19. WHAT IFS Our DNA observers help push the organization outside of its comfort zone by asking questions about hypothetical, dramatic changes, ranging from environmental to managerial. 20. MOOD BOARD As one of the first phases of the design process following discovery, we create a board that helps relay the physical sense of the project. It uses textures, material samples and pictures to help set the stage.
