Do not send in selfies, video stills, blurry pictures, state ID images, and nude or overly sexual images. Images in a costume or wedding gowns are not appropriate for model searches. The image should be of just you. Do not send in pictures that include your family or pets in them. Photographs should be recent, at most 3 months old. EMAIL: Most model searches will require you to enter with an email address. Make sure that you use an email address that you check regularly. You will most likely be notified by email if you are a finalist or winner. Contest rules may require a certain amount of time for the winner to respond. If you miss the deadline, you automatically forfeit your win and prizes. WRITTEN ENTRIES: Entering a model search is very exciting. In the midst of your excitement, you may want to enter right away. Take your time if there is a written portion of the model search. If they are asking you to share something about yourself or an inspiring story, take the time to think about all of your experiences and what may appeal most to the judges. Use grammar and spelling plusmodelmag.com 5.16 #plusmodelmag inspiration + style apps to make sure your entry reads as you intend it to be received. FACE-TO-FACE ENTRIES: 1) Be early or on time, but never late, after reading the requirements carefully. 2) Come with appropriate attire; you want people to see your figure. 3) You should represent the best version of yourself - keep it simple. 4) You should not ask the judge(s) to “pick you”. 5) You should come prepared: nails should be clear or done, hair should be done and light makeup. 6) Know your current stats and fill out the application clearly. BE A GOOD SPORT: We realize not making it as a finalist or winner can be emotional, but as a community, we should deal with our personal feelings and find it in our hearts to support those that have made it. Judging so many women based on words and images is very difficult on the judges. Please don’t take it personal and rant about it on social media. You never know who’s watching and what other opportunities you will miss. Always remain gracious and humble.
