Francine asks:
Am I too old to start a modeling career, I just turned 26?
Generally speaking most agencies like to develop models and begin working with them
from a young age. In the plus size industry the life span of models is a lot longer.
While most models are between 21 and 32 years of age, there are some models that are
modeling well into their late 30’s. I will say the modeling jobs are fewer and depends on
how strong your agency is. Good luck!
Danielle asks:
I’m a size 18/20 and I have a good amount of followers on social media and people have
been encouraging me to be a plus size model, I’m not sure if I should go for it.
In order to make the best decision possible ask yourself these questions.
1) Why do I want to be a model? Modeling is a job, and you will have to put a lot of time,
money and effort into it.
2) Can I invest in a modeling career? (traveling, photos, personal upkeep, etc. )
3) Does my current job situation allow me to travel for castings or take extended lunches
for local go-sees?
Looking at modeling from a business perspective will give you a better understanding
of where you stand and how committed you are to embarking on a new career.
