A Piece of Me is a dramatic film based on one man’s failure to forgive his father for years of verbal, physical & mental abuse that was inflicted upon him, his siblings and his mother. The film is slated for release on April 7th 2016. I had the pleasure of interviewing the film’s Writer & Producer Jermaine Smith last year on the set of my talk show “Model Behavior”. The film is a culmination of a body of work from Mr. Smith beginning with his stage play, A Piece of Me that he successfully took on the road and garnered him several awards. He then turned his play into a book of the same name and finally has completed the film version of the play and the book. This brother was a fascinating interview for me, not a single dull moment. But the thing that stood out the most to me was his humbleness and the size of his heart. He reached out to me after our interview because he wanted to make sure that the actresses in his film got the proper shine for their efforts. So I invited the Ladies of “A Piece of Me: An Everyday Story” to answer a few questions so that the world can get to know them better. And so without further ado...I introduce to you…The Ladies of A Piece of Me: An Everyday Story. Jonelle Berment (Nurse) Why do you enjoy acting? JB: It allows me to leave the life I’m living and go to another place, and portray what that character is living. What’s it like working with Producer Jermaine Smith? JB: Jay is amazing. He is the consummate professional and he believes in giving people a chance, he took a chance on me and for that I’m grateful.
