Plastics alliance increases
membership and worldwide reach
International role players make important advances towards
sustainability and marine litter solutions.
Representatives from the Global Plastics Alliance
(GPA) met in Penang, Malaysia, from 13 to 15
December 2017 as guests of the Malaysian Plastic
Manufacturers, with a view to accelerating and
advancing the Declaration of the Global Plastics
Associations for Solutions on Marine Litter, also
known as the ‘Joint Declaration’. from regions across the globe who recognise and
acknowledge the important role they have to play in
fighting marine litter.
According to Douw Steyn, Plastics SA’s sustainability
director, more than 19 countries from across four
continents are currently participating in thi
