The project was started in May 2013 and
completed in July 2015. It was tackled by
Michael Carter of Techbutler.
CLIENT BRIEF
The client’s brief was to provide a warm and clean
environment in the house, with individual room
control as well as a low-energy house. built hot water room. The two units, both using
R410a refrigerant, a 16kW 500ℓ HPSU compact,
and an 8kW 300ℓ HPSU compact unit, were
installed in series to provide 800ℓ of hot water
and 350m 2 of underfloor water heating. The larger
16kW unit has an electrical top-up element to heat
the domestic hot water system from 50°C to the
required 65°C.
SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
Two Rotex Gmbh HPSU integrated heat pumps for
domestic hot water as well as underfloor water
heating radiant units were installed in a purpose- The underfloor water heating was designed in
accordance with the EN 1264 European Energy
Saving Directive for underfloor water heating and a
full piping layout was supplied by Rotex.
